Discovering research through research

Partner institutions offer research-based learning content, supported by the teaching team’s individual and collective research projects.

The University of Lille thus boasts two interdisciplinary research centres which offer academic expertise on questions studied in the programme classes:

  • The Research Group on Ethnic relations, migration, and equality (GERME).
  • The Centre on Migration, Asylum, and Multiculturalism (MAM).

Similarly, Babeș-Bolyai University contributes to research through two specialised centres:

  • The Institutul Pentru Studierea Problemelor Minoritatilor Nationale (ISPMN) studies national minorities, with a special focus on the status of the Roma community.
  • The Centrul de Studii Politice Si Relatii Internationale (CESPRI) is a centre of Political studies and international relations.

The classes in European studies taught at Cluj, Szeged and the University of the Aegean are based on collaborative research projects carried out through the Jean Monnet networks.

In Rio, students actively participate in the annual conference, the Forum on Migration.

In Dakar, the IRD committee supervises and organises research conducted on migration in West Africa and the less-studied internal migration in the region.
