Summer university

The program is based on a variety of teaching methods, implemented both within partner universities and outside them: lectures, discussion-based classes, research seminars, participation in study days, as well as cooperative projects, professional internships, field research, and a research thesis. Initiatives such as career exploration weeks and introductions to scientific research, collaborations on research projects led by partners, and summer schools in Belgium (ULB), Greece (University of the Aegean), and Spain (University of Granada) enrich this educational experience.

The summer between semesters 2 and 3 can be devoted to one of our three summer schools: “Odysseus: EU Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy” offered by the Université Libre de Bruxelles, “GovArt” (the art of governing), dedicated to migration and asylum policy and borders in international and European law, offered by the University of the Aegean under the auspices of a Jean Monnet European Chair (see the brochure below). A summer school is also offered by the University of Granada: MISSCHO - Migration Studies PhD Summer School
